Karika 36

एते प्रदीपकल्पाः परस्परविलक्षणा गुणविशेषाः। कृत्स्नं पुरुषस्यार्थं प्रकाश्य बुद्धौ प्रयच्छन्ति ॥३६॥

ētē pradīpakalpāḥ parasparavilakṣaṇā guṇaviśēṣāḥ। kr̥tsnaṁ puruṣasyārthaṁ prakāśya buddhau prayacchanti ॥36॥

[एते प्रदीप कल्पाः परस्पर विलक्षणा गुण विशेषाः। कृत्स्नं पुरुषस्य अर्थं प्रकाश्य बुद्धौ प्रयच्छन्ति॥
ētē = these; pradīpa = illuminating lamp; kalpāḥ = like; paraspara = mutually; vilakṣaṇā = different; guṇa = qualities; viśēṣāḥ = having special; kr̥tsnaṁ = is made; puruṣasya arthaṁ = for the sake of purusha; prakāśya = illuminates in front of; buddhau = intellect; prayacchanti = tries to;]

These (instruments) having various special and opposing qualities tries to illuminate the intellect, like a lamp, for the sake of the purusha.
